ProLink NEXIQ TechnologiesTM teamed with heavy-duty truck technicians to develop the Pro-Link iQ, the industry's fastest, most advanced scan tool
Costs: A basic scan just to extract trouble codes vary slightly in price, for example:
Some examples of basic scan prices:
Holden or Ford $65 plus GST
VW or Audi $75 plus GST
Jeep or Chrysler $75 plus GST
Mercedes $95 plus GST
These costs include a scan of the faulty system and gives you a report and print out of the fault code numbers and a brief description of where the fault may be. We give you an estimate only of costs involved to repair any faults.
More in depth analysis gets charged by the hour then we accurately quote for any repairs required.
All scans and diagnostics require an appointment.

Our speciality is Engine diagnostics.
We have over 25 x scan tools to accurately diagnose electronic faults within the engine management systems.
We also use chemical testing and 5-gas exhaust analysers to help us in the fault finding process.
In conjunction with vacuum gauges, compression gauges, smoke testers, and the above scantools, we have a 100% success rate in finding engine management faults whether it be a mechanical fault or electrical fault. We take the guess work out!!
Just like engine management, we can also diagnose with automatic transmission systems as most late model cars have electronically controlled transmissions.
We can determine whether you actually have an engine fault or transmission fault as sometimes symptoms can be confusing as to whether the fault is with the transmission or the engine.
We can diagnose European, Japanese, American, Australian and Korean.
Automatic transmission diagnostic problems surface in many different forms, including dashboard indicator lights, slipping or harsh shifts, poor performance, and strange noises. Scanning transmission codes is an essential first step when performing a diagnosis. The information provided aides in determining the cause of the problem. Transmission problems can be divided into two categories: electrical circuit and all other.
Transmissions no longer use vacuum modulators, governors or kick down cables to control operational attributes. The functions of these elements are now handled by electronic speed sensors, throttle position sensors, and mass air flow sensors.
A scan tool can also help you check for communication faults between the PCM and transmission controller if the vehicle has separate computers. Problems here will typically cause the transmission to go into a “limp home” mode that may lock it in 3rd gear.
Most body control systems in cars use a body control module (BCM) to monitor and control various electronic items to do with the vehicle’s body. Such as central locking, electric windows, lighting and in some cases immobilizer and fuel pump.
We can test and analyse these systems in the same way we scan a vehicle’s other electronics like engine, ABS and airbags.
We carry a range of body modules in stock for various cars, and also components for body module repair.
Very often a 2nd hand body module from a similar vehicle cannot be fitted as a replacement because of coding. Most body modules are coded to the car they are in.
This where it can be very economical for us to repair your own car’s body module rather than buy an expensive new replacement.
AIRBAG SYSTEMS (SRS which actually stands for supplementary restraint systems) give many problems with late model cars.
WARNING!! Extreme care should be given when working on or testing SRS systems as even by using a digital voltmeter can set off an airbag in a split second with possible severe consequences!
It is wise to only use a professional when testing SRS systems.
We have the most up to date testing software on our scan tools to give fast and accurate diagnostics to do with these systems.
We are part of the national VESIA organization which is continuously monitoring testing standards and repair standards of SRS and ABS systems.

By law, we can not repair any SRS items, but we do have certified replacement parts at a fraction of the price of going through the dealership.
Sometimes it may only be a reset required, possibly a trouble code (DTC) set by just disconnecting the battery, or even by removing the steering wheel when doing steering column repairs.
We carry a range of SRS ECU’s in stock as well as crash sensors, airbags and seat buckle pre-tensioners.
The “ABS” or “Anti-Lock Brakes” light remains on after the engine is started and remains on or flashes. Most vehicles on the market give problems with ABS (Anti lock braking) systems. We can accurately diagnose and quote on repairs or replacement parts on ABS systems. We currently stock over 200 different ABS pumps for most makes and models of cars. We also carry other spares for ABS like wheel speed sensors and ABS control units.
Some examples of some of our ABS services:
BMW E46 ABS ABS pump assembly with control unit $795 plus GST
BMW E46 ABS control unit (several part numbers in stock) $595 plus GST

Traction control helps limit tire slip in acceleration on slippery surfaces. In the past, drivers had to feather the gas pedal to prevent the drive wheels from spinning wildly on slippery pavement. Many of today's vehicles employ electronic controls to limit power delivery for the driver, eliminating wheel slip and helping the driver accelerate under control.
The traction control system and the anti-lock brake system work together to apply the brakes to either stop wheel lockup or tire spinning. So the components for the systems are shared for the most part.
